Top Ten Beauts In The Show

These are the top ten beauts currently playing in the NHL.  Rankings are based on skill, flow, and overall attitude towards the game on and off the ice.  All positions are represented, with a minimum of two defense, one tender, and one rookie.

10.  Justin Faulk (Rookie)

At only 20 years of age this rookie beaut had an impressive first year averaging the most ice time for the Hurricane defense squad.  Netting 8 ginos along with 14 helpers, Faulk has a promising future ahead of him.  As a rookie he already has the flow going for him, notice how he utilizes the wind to get the perfect salad toss.

9. Pavel Datsyuk (Forward)

"Datty" clearly does not have the flow or facial hair to be a physical beaut, but what he lacks in looks is made up for by his silky smooth mitts.  No doubt the hockey gods have blessed Pavel with unreal dangles, just ask the number of goalies whose jock straps are still laying in the crease.

8. Ryan Miller (Goalie)

As we all know goalies are just straight up not right in the head and should never be considered beauts, however we thought we should be fair and include at least one.  Miller is really one of the only tendys that actually has flow.  The Buffalo goaltender never really followed up his stellar play in the Vancouver Olympics, but is still a solid player between the pipes.  

7. Erik Karlsson (Defense)

Karlsson has a beautiful flow going on, the kind of hair you can hang christmas lights on.  A very skilled defensemen for the Ottawa Senators, Karlsson accumulated 78 points as a 21 year old, as well as an All Star pick.  This beaut has a light stache coming in, now if he can grow out a beard, he will make his way to the top of this list.  

6. Steven Stamkos (Forward)

The leading goal scorer in the show this year comes in at number 6 on our list.  "Stammy" has an unreal amount of talent, a natural goal scorer with great vision.  He can rock short and long hair.  I would really like to see the beard more, but I guess the Bolts would have to actually make it the playoffs first.

5. Kris Letang (Defense)

Letang undoubtedly uses a hair straightener which almost led us to disqualify him, but it's the end product that matters, and we like the dedication he has to keep that flow looking like gold.  Another player that was blessed with saucy paws, Letang is a common sight in shootouts for Penguins.  Biggest beaut of a defensemen in the league.

4. Patrick Kane (Forward)

Probably the first NHL player to rock the racing stripes, Patrick Kane brings the mullet to a whole new level.  Kane almost has the total package, he has the flow down, but the facial hair is very questionable, I would suggest he focus on the flow and not the Crosby baby stache.  If Jergens lotion had a spokesperson, Kane would definitely be it.  His soft hands completely embarrassed Backstrom, deking at least 100 times before sticking it in the net. 

3. Scott Hartnell (Forward)

One of the biggest beauts in the league, also has the curliest flow known to man.  This grinder for the Flyers is known for his hair, but especially his playoff beard which blows those of Joe Thornton and Henrik Zetterburg out of the water.  His energy on the ice is evident, making an impact every shift.  

2. Alexander Ovechkin (Forward)

The Great 8 is one of the most exciting players in the league.  Although he has not produced much in the past few seasons, he is always fun to watch.  His cheap haircuts and Russian club style are thrown out in this competition.  Ovi's skills and celebrations are the best in the league, putting him at number 2 on our list.  Ever since Ovechkin signed his deal with Gillette we haven't seen his grizzly beard, maybe that has been his downfall...

1. Claude Giroux (Forward)

At number 1 on our list, the spokesman for the beaut class of 2011-2012 is Claude Giroux.  One of the smartest players on the ice, Giroux can score from anywhere.  At the age of 24 Giroux has evolved into one of the premiere players in the show racking up 93 points this season on a lethal Flyers squad.  Number 28 has a nice flow and can grow a filthy stache, adding his skills, Giroux is our number one beaut of the 2011-2012 season.
